World of Warcraft Trading

If you are having trouble locating items in World of Warcraft, one method you may want to consider is trading. No matter how much ground you cover and no matter how many battles and quests you engage in, sometimes you just have trouble finding certain things. While you can certainly try to get by without certain things, what’s the point? In addition, trading is a terrific way to get some items more quickly than just waiting for them to show up.

To trade with another character, simply right-click on its portrait to bring up the trade screen with another player. Then put your items in the top part of the screen. When you’re happy with the trade, hit the “Trade” button. If you want to trade money, all you have to do is open your backpack and click on the money amount while holding down shift. In addition, it is also possible to simply drag your item or money from your bag onto another player to begin a trade transaction.

Are there secrets to successful trading? Well, would you trade a Jar Jar Binks action figure for an autographed Revenge of the Jedi poster? If so, let me give you my email address. Seriously, though, there are good and bad trades in World of Warcraft just as there in real life. Psychology plays a part; you don’t want to let on just how badly you may want what the other person has.

Another secret is to trade smart. By which is meant don’t go around trying to unload a bunch of crappy little items trying to get that one really good piece you’ve been unable to acquire. Most people aren’t interested in getting a bunch of a minor stuff and they certainly aren’t typically going to be likely to trade you something of real value for all that stuff.

Another thing to consider when offering and making trades is your reputation. When it comes to trading in World of Warcraft, reputation plays just as important a part as trading in real life. The last thing you want to do is get a reputation as someone who goes around cheating other players.

Word will get around thanks to guilds and the chat mode. So play smart, deal fairly and don’t expect to get something for nothing. Trading is nifty way to get your hands on something you really want, but haven’t been able to find. Don’t screw up your chances for getting something really cool in the future by making a dumb trade early on.
